The 2025 MHA Larry Bombara Memorial Charity Golf Tournament will be held at Brookmeadow Country Club, in Canton MA on Tuesday, October 21st. The Planning Committee for this annual event is hard at work. Be on the lookout for future announcements for this wonderful day on the golf course with our fellow members, colleagues, and friends! 2025 Honoree, John Knipe.
John was a long-time employee of the Town of Shrewsbury where he worked for over 40 years in various capacities serving as Shrewsbury’s Superintendent of Streets & Tree Warden from 1988-2018. John is a 1974 graduate of Worcester Junior College where he received his associate’s degree in civil engineering. John is a long-time member of the Massachusetts Highway Association, having served as President from 2002-2003 as well as an Elected Trustee from 2005-2009. He has served on multiple other associations including the Worcester County Highway Association (President and member of the association’s Nominating Committee), Chairman of the Central Mass Regional Planning Commission, and as an Executive Board Member of the Baystate Roads Advisory Board.
Congratulations John on being our 2025 honoree!
John’s chosen charities are Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Boy Scouts of
America Mohegan Council.

The MHA Charity Tournament began in 2009 as a way to honor long-standing members of MHA and to give back to those who have provided their time and effort in support of the organization. The honoree each year, voted upon by the Board, selects a charity to which all proceeds of the tournament are donated.
